Historical Novel

The story we all learned in school about the conquest of the New World is wrong. We all learned that Spaniards with names like Cortez and Pizarro showed up and in a short while North, then South America became European possessions. The people who lived here gave up their religions and civilizations, and accepted the innevitable rule by men who were white and carried guns and the cross. That's not the way it happened.

1519--The Conquest

Hernan Cortez is the first European to lay eyes on the greatest empire in the Western Hemisphere. He finds untold riches of gold there. So, with only two hundred Spanish soldiers of fortune, he marches into an undiscovered continent to conquer an ancient empire with millions of subjects.
